"Mangue" characteristic vegeta-tion gives its name to the beach and bay of Manguinhos. Manguinhos is a large stretch of sand, with a shifting tide, strong winds and gentle swell that is the favourite of windsurfers and yachtsmen.
Not only it is wel-known because of its several kilometers wide beach, but also it is so by its Fishing Colony, an organization that represents local fishermen, where you can get fish and seafood at reasonable prices.
