The whole area of Búzios is ideal for diving and exploring underwater. The average tempera-ture is around 22° C, This, toge-ther with an extremely crystal-clear sea make this area one of the most chosen places by diving amateurs and professionals from all over the world. In Búzios, the most suitable places for free diving (low depth snorkelling) are the beaches of João Fernades (where you can rent the equipment), João Fernandino, Lagoinha, Forno, Aze-da y Azedinha. While for those that practice scuba diving (with oxygen tanks) we can recommend Ilha da Âncora, at only half an hour from downtown by motorboat. Ilhas Gra-vatás, Filhote e Ilha Feia are also good spots for scuba diving.

The climate in Búzios, which is sunny 250 days per year, is a good companion for the practice of this sport. Except on the month of May, that is very windy, we can say that any time is good for diving in Búzios.

Out of town, at only half an hour by car, there is Arraial, one of the most visited diving spots in Brazil.
