Búzios was, at first,
a fishing village. The whole area
is very rich in sea fauna, and fishermen
usually come from their boats with
a smile.Although the vessels are
not basic, Buzios is also a good
spot for the practice of coastal
fishing. You can practice coastal
fishing at Praia Rasa , Mangunhos,
y Tucuns. The people from the place
call it "fishing with a stick".
Others fishing spots are rocks or
cliffs, over a relative depth. The
best spots for these are Ilhas da
Âncora and Ilha Gravatás,
the rocks of Praia João Fernandinho
to Ponta do Criminoso, the rocks
of Praia Olho de Boi, the rocks
of Praia do Forno and Ponta da Fe-rradurinha.
You can also rent a fishing boat,
a "trainiera", to have
an excursion by boat. The service
is very complete, and it includes
the promise to fish a lot. You can
get good information at the fishermen Colony ("Colonia
de Pescadores").
